We’re exploring what medicine can become when the people caring for patients also build the tools.
PLC grew out of a shared interest in medicine, biology, and building things. We met during MD–PhD training at Penn and went on to train together in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Our research spans single-molecule imaging, epigenetic regulation, the microbiome, and point-of-care ultrasound, including ultrasound training for spaceflight. Our clinical experience includes emergency medicine, expedition care, and space medicine, including medical operations at SpaceX.
We’ve continued to write software and build tools around the questions we encounter as physicians. At PLC, we’re exploring what medicine can become in the age of AI: how to connect health information, establish what it means clinically, and put scientific evidence to work in care.
Acute care has also shaped our interest in what happens earlier. We want to understand how better information can help preserve health before a problem becomes a crisis, and how to learn from an individual’s response over time.
